The Beauty and Health Care Division of Al Shabak General Trading Co. L.L.C., was established in the year 1988 primarily to service the booming re-export market as Dubai was emerging as the commercial hub of the Middle East. We realised that there was a growing demand for French Beauty and Health Care products and with our active participation soon we gained recognition as a dominant player in the UAE market.
In the year 1990, in order to establish our local presence, we entered into a distribution agreement with Mustela, the No.1 Baby Care line in Europe and now the No.1 in UAE in the premium category. Although in the initial years, Mustela distribution was restricted to pharmacies, as the market evolved, and in order to reach out to the new mothers, we expanded the distribution to retail chains dedicated to Mother and Child and Government assisted Coops which patronise the local population. Simultaneously, we maintained our strong presence in Maternities through Antenatal and Neonatal activities with active engagement of the Nursing Staff.
We have since moved with times and with the digital revolution and with online shopping becoming a part of the lifestyle, we quickly switched gears and entered into partnership with leading online platforms specializing in Mother and Baby products. Mothers now find it easy to shop Mustela products from the comforts of their homes through leading online portals.
As we crossed several milestones with Mustela, we strengthened our Beauty & Health Care portfolio with a niche French hair care brand Phyto which specializes in offering plant based botanical solutions for hair care, hair loss and hair treatments. Phyto also offers a comprehensive range of hair colors with color pigmentation derived from plants.
The COVID-19 pandemic did not deter our quest for expanding our beauty portfolio. In keeping with our tradition to offer premium brands, we have now added Mila D’Opiz, a Swiss beauty brand and La Bonté Paris a French perfume brand patronised by the aristocrat community in France.
Mila D’Opiz has over eight decades of experience in formulating top class skincare products in consultation with Dermatologists and technically experienced active Chemists. Mila D’Opiz products are manufactured in their own research and development laboratory in St. Gallen, Switzerland and exported to over 40 Countries in 5 Continents.
La Bonté Paris perfumes have remained exclusive to French royal families, the dukes and the French duchesses. Created to revive the name and memory of his father, Michel who was the only son of an aristocrat family who lived in the south of France in 1937, while helping his father as his assistant in agriculture and gardening, showed keen interest in extracting oil from the flowers and plants from the land they owned and created perfume essences. When he moved to Paris in 1939, he earned a reputation as the best producer of perfume essences among famous French personalities. In order to commercialize his creation, he joined hands with perfumers Gerard Bertrand and Emile Bouge and produced 11 Unisex seductive perfumes under the name of La Bonté Paris. La Bonté Paris parfumes inspired the rich, wealthy and aristocrat French societies. A privilege to be associated with La Bonté Paris, we handle the distribution in UAE and other GCC states and African markets.
